Hello! My name is Melanie Shapiro, I'm Desiree's partner. We live in Providence with our "children" Speck, Thumpy, Onyx, Rosie, and Mitzy- 3 cats, a dog, and a horse.

Desiree owns Out & About Travel. We have a road trip coming up in June, and I'm so excited!!!!! Hopefully we will be driving down to Sante Fe and back with some great stops along the way.

Do you all like roadtrips, too??

About me: I'm graduating from college in May and heading off to law school in the Fall this is my last "play" summer, so I am trying to enjoy it and make money somehow! I love horses, tennis, music, feminism, reading, and being outside! Going to concerts is a blast. Last summer, I went to my first Jimmy Buffett concert!

I look forward to getting to know you all!

I'm Ralph and my partner and I have been together for 28 years so far. He's my soul mate, my best friend and my constant source of support. Both of us love to travel to new places and meet new people. At the end of this month we are going back to New Orleans and in October we are going to Europe where we will spend time in Italy, Greece and Turkey.
We live in Florida and have a great life together and share our time with friends and family. I'm a very open person and enjoy interacting with other people so, feel free to ask me anything :)

Ralph,

Congratulations on being with your partner for 28 years!! I would never have guessed. You look so young. Have fun in New Orleans! That is one my favorite cities. Desiree and I went there last summer during a road trip and I loved it! Have a prailine for us! A great place to go is Mulate's, if you get the chance. Good bread pudding.

Enjoy Europe. Where in Italy are you going? I have always wanted to go to Italy. I have never been to Europe before, just to Quebec, which seems Parisian, so I guess that is the closest thing.

Hi everyone,

My name is Dressy and my partner Max and I live in Rochester NY with our kitties Hazel, Bisou and Georgie.
We love to travel (until recently, I paid for our annual vacations while she pays for house expenses... then I lost my job in 2007). Hopefully we will be again planning an annual vacation in the near future.

We are avid fisherwomyn and are always on the lookout for outdoorsy fishing vacations and GLBT friendly destinations with fishing nearby. We go to bed & breakfasts occasionally in our area via the Purple Roofs site, but it's the big annual trips we love planning... we've been to the Salmon River region in NYS, New Orleans, Baltimore, Dallas and (on our honeymoon) North Bay, Ontario, Canada.

One of the BEST trips we took was to Caesar's Pocono Palace Resort in Marshalls Creek, Poconos, PA. It's a couples-only resort on a private lake near the Delaware Water Gap between PA and NJ. Amazing buffets, romantic suites for two with the heart-shaped whirlpool tub :), wonderful fishing, a HUGE list of different activities ranging from archery to golf to waterskiing etc. and it's all inclusive except for alcoholic beverages. What was the most enjoyable (besides the beautiful scenery) was that they were VERY accepting and treated us no differently than anyone else staying there! No problem being around all the straight folks either. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever taken. I'd highly recommend it!

Our dream trip (which I found online a year ago) is an all-inclusive GLBT friendly floating hotel in northern British Columbia, Canada... with (you guessed it) daily guided fishing expeditions for halibut and salmon...
That and we'd love to find a GLBT friendly expedition to a fly-out gourmet B&B cabin in northern Canada..there are LOTS of them online for the het folks, but we have yet to find one that's "friendly"!

Glad this site is here! In my spare time, I love scrapbooking (esp. scrapbooking our trips) and needlework.

We live in Tel Aviv, Israel. Our staid travel plans take us back to mild Switzerland twice a year. There, we get off the roller coaster of life in the middle east, recharge our batteries. I am a former El Al Israel Airlines employee, so have traveled a lot and now avoid long flights as far as possible.
I work now at trying to reveal the real Israel to the glbt community. It's a challenge, even though this is probably one of the most advanced countries in the world for the glbt community - and I'm proud to have played a significant part of the change for gay civil rights. (More info? - Google my name).
It will be 30 years (and counting) in July for my "marriage".
I am happy to be a member of this group.

Turned 54 in March. Guess I have good genes :)
New Orleans was wonderful. The food, the people, the History. I'd move there tomorow it's such a great place. The festival was awesome and we all had a great time. Next year we are going to French Fest and I hear it's better than the actual festival.

Hi I'm Kristen. My partner and I are looking to travel to Prague this fall. I'm half Czech on my father's side, although after 5 generations living here our family has lost a bit of the culture; so we thought we'd find out if the penchant for carrying large burdens and the ability to make great pie crust is related to my heritage. Does anyone have tips on how to meet Czech knitters or Czech bakers or, of course, Czech lesbians? We want to do some touristy stuff, but it would be really fun if we could figure out how to connect with people there. I am learning as much Czech as I can, but right now I think we'll need to communicate in English. We're also looking for places to stay that won't break the bank. We need quiet time when we travel, so some privacy is important. Would appreciate any tips or ideas.

Law School is getting closer! What school will you be attending? Some advice: if you have the chance to join a study group, join one with who you perceive to be the very brightest members of your class.
